Advising her are three women who have all killed their husbands in order to survive. Artemisia Gentileschi’s famous painting, in which she slits her rapist’s throat, is the daring embodiment of this film: embrace the violence within yourself, and you will be free. It’s a film that pulls no punches, about women as perpetrators, as opposed to women as eternal victims.
