Poetic film about the decay of Russia’s Kola peninsula landscape.

The idealistic intentions of explorers within the Kola peninsula since the beginning of the Russian revolution have left deep traces both in the landscape and in the minds of people. This film tells of the glorious optimism of that older generation and their shattered ideals. In the resulting decay the film finds beauty and perspective, and signs of resilience among ordinary people.
