Can pets fill a gap that should actually be filled by humans? To what extent do we project our own shortcomings and desires onto our lovely animals? The main characters in the documentary all have a void to fill in their own way. We observe their relationship with their pets and follow them as they set out to overcome their fears and insecurities, and try to immerse themselves further into the human world.
