A father takes his teenage daughter to the Moluccan neighbourhood of his youth, where unprocessed family traumas put their relationship on edge.

PULANG is a story about the well-meaning but impulsive Agus who takes his teenage daughter Robin to visit his parents in the Moluccan community for the summer holidays. He hopes to improve their father-daughter relationship and introduce the Dutchified Robin to Moluccan culture of kite fighting, food, music, togetherness and spirituality. But unprocessed traumas within the family put their relationship on edge, and the father and daughter drift further and further apart.
